The NSIS QOS Model for Inter-domain Signaling to Enable End-to-End QoS Provisioning Over Heterogeneous Domains

چکیده
This paper describes a NSIS QoS Model for inter-domain signaling (InterDomain-QOSM) between adjacent domains to enable endto-end QoS provisioning over heterogeneous network domains. Specifically, it assumes a distinct separation between the intra-domain control plane and the inter-domain control plane at each administrative domain and is intended to implement a common inter-domain control interface that allows the QoS negotiation and setup of inter-domain traffic streams while hiding the heterogeneity of intra-domain control mechanisms in use in a chain of heterogeneous network domains. The operation mode of the InterDomain-QoSM is first described and then the additional QSPEC parameters for fulfilling the common inter-domain interface are specified, followed by the illustrations of how the InterDomain-QOSM interacts with some typical intra-domain QoS models to achieve the end-to-end QoS provisioning over heterogeneous domains in a standardized and dy-

End-to-end QoS provisioning across heterogeneous domains
Heterogeneity with respect to networking technology is increasing, for example, considering QoS support. Different QoS have been developed for the Internet and for ATM networks. In the context of the Internet, integrated services (IntServ) as well as differentiated services (DiffServ) are considered. As a result, networking scenarios with different QoS models being applied in different domains ...
متن کاملDesign of a Minimal Signaling Based Bandwidth Brokering Protocol
The DiffServ architecture uses automated agents known as Bandwidth Brokers for provisioning, allocating and managing QoS resources within domains as weil as communicating with agents of other domains so that QoS guarantees can be provided across domains. The Bandwidth Brokers attempt to establish an end-to-end Quality of Service through signaling between each other. This leads to an implicit tr...
متن کاملEnd-to-end quality of service provisioning through inter-provider traffic engineering
This paper addresses the issue of delivering solutions that will enable the incremental implementation of inter-domain quality of service (QoS) in the multi-provider commercial Internet. The paper first introduces a holistic architecture that describes the key functions required to support inter-domain QoS, and then proceeds to present results from two major components of the architecture. A ge...
متن کاملAn architectural framework for Inter-domain QoS provisioning
This paper presents an architecture that supports inter-domain quality of service (QoS) across the multi-provider commercial Internet. The architecture describes the full set of functions in the management, control and data planes required for network providers to work together to deliver end-to-end QoS-based IP connectivity services. We use the concept of QoS Classes and show how these can be ...
متن کاملHybrid on-path off-path approach for end-to-end signalling across NSIS and non-NSIS domains (HyPath)
In a multi-domain Internet that offers QoS guaranties for applications, there is the need of signalling among the domain entities that are responsible for the management of QoS. Because different domains have different network protocols and topologies, there is no solution that is able to signal these entities using an off path approach, and in particular that is able to interwork with the on p...
